A Great Tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Pope-Leighey House

Shelly Solomonson Murray and I toured the Pope-Leighey house near Alexandria, VA today. The house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1940 for the Pope family in Falls Church, VA, and was moved to this location in the early 1960's when I-66 was extended.

The house was one of a few thousand affordable homes Wright designed. It is only 1200 sq. ft. but seems bigger. We could not sit on the furniture, and while it looked great, also looked to be quite uncomfortable.

We love to visit Wright houses, and have seen Falling Water and Kentuck Knob in Pennsylvania, Taliesin West in Scottsdale, AZ, and a couple others. Definitely worth a visit.
