Dear friends Kate Coleman and Kristian Anderson joined Shelly and I for dinner and a concert. We ate dinner at Schmankerl Stube Bavarian Restaurant in Hagerstown, MD. Kate, Kristian, and Shelly started out with some German beer and I had an iced tea. For our meals, Kate had Münchener Sahnegeschnetzeltes, which was Sautéed Beef and Pork Tenderloin Tips in Cream Sauce “Munich Style”, served over Homemade Spätzle with Green Beans wrapped in Bacon, which, according to her, was delicious. Kristian and Shelly had Ulmer Metzgerplatte, two Bavarian Bratwurst, grilled and served with Sauerkraut, choice of Potato Salad or Spätzle topped with Rahmsauce and Vegetable of the Day. They liked their dishes very much. I had Wiener Schnitzel, Lightly breaded Veal or Pork, pan-fried, served with Rahmsauce on the side and your choice of Spätzle, Pommes Frites or Potato Salad, and Vegetable of the Day. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
After dinner, we made our way to the Maryland Theater to see Face 2 Face, a Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John. We arrived at the theater around 6:30pm and quickly took seats in the left second row of orchestra. We had a great view of the twin pianos, Elton, Billy and the band. The show was great, fast-paced, energetic, and with lots of audience participation. They played many of their hits, and the audience responded by singing along. Here are some photos and video snippets.
