I received my new Samsung Chromebook 3 today. It was a free gift due to continuing our FIOS Internet and television with Verizon. I bring my laptop on all my travels so I could backup photos and videos, and to keep in touch with the world via email and Facebook. I use it to plot navigation plans using Google Maps, and to record notes and memories of daily travel activities. I also want a computer so I can respond to itinerary disruptions and change flights or reservations if necessary.
I am looking forward to packing the Chromebook rather than my laptop as it is much smaller and lighter. The features include 11.6 inch display, 4GB RAM, and 16GB eMMC. It has USB 2.0 and 3.0, and HDMI ports, and a microSD card slot. So it has plenty of storage for daily photos and videos, which I can them upload to my Google Drive. I have installed Google Docs so I have word processing to enter my daily travel notes and memories, and Sheets so I can review my itineraries.
All in all, I am quite pleased with it and look forward to testing it out on our trip to Ocean City, MD, and then putting it to full use on our trip to Greece.
