Isolation Day 17 - Another Lazy Day

My brother Al was pretty upbeat today.   Connie had a pretty good day.  They switched her from laying on her back to laying on her stomach.  It's called "proning".  It's easier for her to breath because she's able to get a little more oxygen into her lungs (in this position) and that allows them to dial-down the ventilator just a bit.  They removed the feeding tube that was inserted in her mouth and put a new feeding tube down her nose.  This tube goes directly into her small intestine whereas the other went into her stomach.  She should experience less choking now since she only has only the breathing tube down her throat. Doctor feels she will be on the ventilator another week.  The hydroxychloroquine regimen she was on was not effective for her.  Still stable. Please keep the prayers coming.

Not much to report today as it was a really lazy day. I had no ambition at all. I feel like I should be doing more. But we have at least another 30 days of quarantine, so maybe I'll get my ass in gear tomorrow.

Shelly and I played a few games of Scrabble and we video-chatted with her Mom on Grandpad. Grandpad is pretty cool. It's a Consumer Cellular device like an iPad. It gives you phone calls, video chat, text, email, and photo posting. It seems to be great for Shelly's Mom, much simpler that using an iPad and FaceTime.

Shelly and I are going to start watching the Netflix documentary "Tiger King." I keep reading good things about it.

A throwback photo of the day is from the trip Shelly, Melissa, and I made to China in 2010. Here's the sun setting at the Summer Palace. It was quite beautiful to see.

And in closing, Shelly and I saw Paul McCartney twice in the early 90's at RFK, and then again at Nationals Stadium around 2013 I think. Great concerts. Here's Paul, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Phil Collins, and others performing "Golden Slumbers," "Carry that Weight" and "The End".
