Isolation Day 26 - It Ain't Over til it's Over

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers concerning my sister-in-law Connie and her struggles with Covid-19. She went off the ventilator after 16 days and is slowly recovering. My brother Al is aware of and very grateful for your kindness.

It appears that New York has reached its peak of infections and is trending downward. That's great news. The DC-Metro area could be the next hotspot, but if we all stay home, the impact should be lessened. Starting Monday in Maryland, you must wear a mask when you shop. Also grocery stores are only allowing a certain number of shoppers in at a time. All good actions.

Big excitement at the house today. Amazon delivered a box of Pringles Snack Stacks Potato Crisps Chips. Oh yea! I don't know if they are for me. Shelly ordered them and they may be for Rhys and Knox. But I can dream...

Thought of Yogi Berra today, the greatest Yankee catcher of all-time. Not only was he a great catcher, but he was funny as hell. Here are some of my favorite "Yogisms."

  1. No one goes there nowadays, it’s too crowded.

  2. Baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical.

  3. Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.

  4. You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I’m not hungry enough to eat six.

  5. I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did.

  6. I never said most of the things I said.

  7. The towels were so thick there I could hardly close my suitcase.

  8. It ain’t over till it’s over.

I watched the replay of the 2005 Masters on ESPN. Tiger was masterful as usual.

Here's a throwback photo of me in 2005 in New Orleans with Shelly having coffee at Cafe du Monde.

And in closing, here's the latest video from BBC sports announcer Andrew Cotter who is bored during lockdown, and doing play-by-play of his dogs antics.
