Isolation Day 34 - Movie Day

My brother Jack's wife, my sister-in-law Bobbie, has apparently had a stroke and is in hospice care. Her family is preparing for her final peace. She has been in a nursing facility and in a lot of pain. Prayers are appreciated.

As of today Connie has been hospitalized for one month. She is in good spirits today because she got her first shower. She walked back and forth across her room using a walker. Tomorrow they do another Covid test. She needs two negatives in a row to be released. She's looking forward to getting out of the hospital and into rehabilitation.

I watched the movie Jaws this morning. Everyone knows what it's about. Great film that still holds up well.

I watched the movie Sicario: Day of Soldado starring Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin. It's a sequel to the original movie Sicario, which was excellent. It's about drug cartels smuggling terrorists across the US border. To stir up trouble within the cartels, Del Toro, a CIA operative, kidnaps a cartel leader's daughter, who gets kidnapped again and again throughout the movie. I have to admit I was a bit confused during this movie. Not sure who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. And the ending is weird. I give it 6 stars out of 10.

I watched the movie The Girl in the Spider's Web starring Claire Foy. It's about Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker, who is hired to steal and secure a computer program that can control nuclear missiles. The film is fast paced and action-packed. It's from the great series that began with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, followed by The Girl who Played with Fire, and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I've seen all three and they are great. It gets 7.5 star out of 10.

Here's a throwback photo of Shelly, Melissa and me in a handsome cab in New York City in December 2003. We were there for Christmas.

And in closing, Shelly and I saw Liz Phair at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC in October 2018. She was doing her Exile in Guyville tour. Great show. Here's Liz performing Extraordinary.
