I talked to my brother Al and sister-in-law Connie. They are doing well and Connie is getting stronger every day. Thank you so much for the prayers.
Shelly has been marinating a roast to make sauerbraten and we are having it tomorrow. She made spatzle today. Can't wait for tomorrow for our German meal!

I watched the movie Training Day starring Denzel Washington as a corrupt narcotics cop, and Ethan Hawke as his new team member who resists the corrupt activities. It's an interesting story with a good amount of action in it. 6 out of 10 stars.
I also watched the movie Underworld: Evolution starring Kate Beckinsale. It picks up directly from the previous movie, Underworld, as vampire warrior Selene and the half werewolf Michael hunt for clues to reveal the history of their races and the war between them. I love the Underworld series and give it 8 out of 10 stars.
Here's a throwback photo of Shelly and me during a cooking class at our hotel in Istanbul, Turkey in 2014. We made authentic Turkish dishes for ourselves. They weren't bad but not great either.
And in closing, we saw Barry Manilow in Baltimore in 2013. For me, it was a surprisingly good concert. He's a great performer. Here he is performing "Trying to get that Feeling Again."
