Isolation Day 57 - Covid-brain Today

We got a delivery from Wegman's via Instacart today. Most of the items were for Shelly's Mom. This was our first bad experience. One got two wrong items delivered and got charged for an item that was not delivered. I got refunds for both, but you need to check the delivery carefully.

We went shopping at Safeway today to pick up our essentials. I left a case of water in the cart at the store. Covid-brain.

We had our Beer Monday virtual happy hour with Kate and Bob Coleman today. Good times.

I pre-ordered three Yankees face masks from MLB.com. They'll ship in June.

Shelly and I had a couple really good Scrabble games today. Very close until the end.

Shelly and I watched the movie I Still Believe about Christian singer Jeremy Camp who fell in love with his soulmate Melissa in college. She developed and died of ovarian cancer 4 months after they married. She inspired him to believe in himself and keep his music going. Camp went on to become a major Christian music star. The movie was OK, but I found it to be kind of sappy, and it gets 6.5 out of 10 stars.

I also watched the movie Forrest Gump, the CBS Sunday Night Movie. The presidencies of Kennedy and Johnson, the events of Vietnam, Watergate and other historical events unfold through the perspective of Gump, an Alabama man with an IQ of 75, whose only desire is to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Jenny. Great film with a great story, and good for 8.5 stars out of 10.

Here's a throwback photo from July 4, 2014. We watched the fireworks from atop the NAR building on New Jersey Ave. We had great views of all the fireworks around the DC region.

And in closing, since I watched Forrest Gump, here's a clip from the movie when Forrest talks to Jenny at her grave.
