Isolation Day 67 - A Baseball Replay Day

Maryland is in phase 1 of reopening, and the county I live in, Montgomery, will begin phase 1 next week. I'm definitely ready for it. I've gotten more comfortable wearing a mask and distancing myself from others. We'll see what happens when the restaurants open.

Spent two hours shopping for groceries and plants today. We got our delivery from Wegman's yesterday. We went to Home Depot to pick up some herbs and flowers to plant, then to Staples, Target, and Wegman's. We're dropping groceries off at Shelly's Mom's tomorrow.

I watched the movie The Mummy starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. I never saw this movie before. An English librarian named Evelyn Carnahan (Weisz) becomes interested in starting an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra. She gains the help of Rick O'Connell (Fraser), after saving him from his death. What Evelyn, her brother Jonathan and Rick are unaware of is that another group of explorers are interested in the same dig. Unfortunately for everyone, this group ends up unleashing a curse which had been laid on the dead High Priest Imhotep (The Mummy). This movie is a Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark wanna-be. Fraser and Weisz don't have the same chemistry as Harrison Ford and Karen Allen, and Fraser isn't nearly as charming as Ford. The attempt at humor falls flat. I found myself rooting for the Mummy. 6 stars out of 10.

I went to bed but woke up wide awake at 2 am, so I went to our den and watched the replay of the 1978 NLCS between the Dodgers and Phillies. Damn if the Dodgers didn't win again.

I also watched the replay of the 2003 ALCS game 7 between the Yankees and Red Sox. It was the game Aaron Boone hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning, giving the Yankees their 39th pennant.

Here's a throwback photo of our trip to Vietnam in 2019. We were in Hoi An and met special friends Desiree and Peter Doyle from Australia. They helped make our trip extra special.

And in closing, how about some ABBA. I grew to love this group around 1979. Here they are performing S.O.S.
