Isolation Day 68 - Almost Beach Time!

Not much going on today. We're going to the beach next week so I'm really looking forward to that. The weather is looking pretty decent so far. Restaurants will still be closed for dining-in, but pickup or delivery is available. The indoor and outdoor pools are still closed as well. But we'll still enjoy it.

I've been thinking more and more that a trip to Australia in late 2021 is in order. We'll have to see what air travel is like, and whether Covid-19 dies out. I'd like to get the really long air travel out of the way while we're still healthy and somewhat flexible. We have friends, Desi and Peter Doyle, near Melbourne and would love to spend some time with them. It's not too early to plan.

I'd also love to go to Yankees spring training again next March. We had such a great time this past February with Lani and Pat Morrissey that I'm ready to do it again.

I watched the movie Fury starring Brad Pitt as Sergeant "Wardaddy" Collier who commands a Sherman tank inside Germany in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, the battle-hardened Army sergeant and his five-man tank crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, "Wardaddy" and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany. Good action and I liked the first 90 minutes - it showed horrors of war. The last 30 minutes, I thought, were a bit unrealistic with so many German soldiers running in the open in front of machine guns. I still liked it and give it 7 out of 10 stars.

Here's a throwback photo to this past February when Shelly and I went to Yankees spring training games in Tampa, FL with Lani and Pat Morrissey. We had a great time watching Yankee games, eating at restaurants (remember when?), and just hanging out.

And in closing, I love this song by the Chi-Lites, "Have you Seen Her."
