Isolation Days 69 and 70 - Golf is Back

I forgot to post for day 69 so here's the post for 69 and 70. So it's been 10 weeks of restrictions now. But we're gradually reopening and as the 17-year cicadas emerge from their rest, so will we.

Shelly and I worked outside a bit on a gorgeous day. We planted some flowers and herbs.

Watched the movie The Post starring Tom Hanks as Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee and Meryl Streep as publisher Kay Graham. When American military analyst, Daniel Ellsberg, realizes to his disgust the depths of the US government's deceptions about the futility of the Vietnam War, he takes action by copying top-secret documents that would become the Pentagon Papers. He distributes the papers to the New York Times and Washington Post who battle legal hurdles to publish them. Graham must decide whether to back down for the safety of her paper or publish and fight for the Freedom of the Press. In doing so, Graham and her staff join a fight that would have America's democratic ideals in the balance.

Shelly and I watched Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning battle Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in a golf challenge today. It rained on them most of the day and they were soaked. But it was nice to see Manning and Brady contributed to winning some holes.

Listened to American Top 40 with Casey Kasem. Here's the top 10 for this week in 1971.

Here's a throwback photo of the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece in 2019.

And in closing, from Supertramp, whose Breakfast in America album dominated the charts during my first semester in college in 1979, "The Logical Song."
