Viewing the Portraits of Courage at the Kennedy Center

Shelly and I visited the Kennedy Center to view President George W. Bush's Portraits of Courage art exhibit. President Bush painted portraits of American wounded warriors as a tribute to the brave men and women who fought for our country during the War on Terrorism. There are about 40 portraits on display. There is also an iOS and Android app called Portraits of Courage that shows each portrait and an accompanying story.

Not knowing much about paintings, I can't really comment on the quality of the art. However, I found myself studying each portrait in an effort to take in the heart and soul of the individuals and the magnitude of their sacrifice. Here are some pictures so you can judge for yourself.
